Biomei is rooted in a passion for relationships, legacy, and the sharing of knowledge. Chris Trump carries this work on the road as a consultant, teacher, and friend, contributing to projects and people making a meaningful difference in the world.

Our friends in Portugal dedicated a scope of their vineyard to full Natural Farming protocol with incredible results. The vineyard--Quinta de Penhó--is located in Celorico de Basto, Braga, in the Basto sub-region of the Vinho Verde DOC. The experimental vineyard itself is about 5 hectares, within a 15-hectare property. The vines used in the trial were Trajadura, planted in 2010, trained on a single-cordon vertical shoot positioning system. The vineyard has been organically certified since 2018 and operates under rain-fed viticulture (no irrigation). The vineyard collaborated with the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) and a student within the Master’s in Enology and Viticulture program, named Ana Canaveira Gouveia Taborda Moreira. UTAD is one of Portugal’s leading universities for viticulture, enology, and agricultural sciences, and it is located close to the Douro and Vinho Verde wine regions, which is why many vineyard field trials like this one are conducted nearby. The vineyard was impacted by a big hail storm in the middle of the study which affected some of the data--however in spite of that, and with what they were able to collect, the study showed positive changing chlorophyll levls with natural farming use and many other improved plant health markers that are incredibly positive. We'd love to offer training in Portugal in the coming months. Email Chris if you're interested!

Some snapshots from the visit:

Chris visited Ireland for the third year in a row to train teachers in collaboration with Tom Stack and the increasingly thriving Natural Farming Community there. The trained teachers are now assuming leadership regionally--including taking protocols to scale in many farming applications. They just had their first class of 100% Irish teachers and particpants which went well. They've started a resource hub and website, and there's a documentary in the process of being filmed. We'll share the teaser and more when released. Give their Natural Farming Group a follow here!

In the 5-6 years since Edun started, they've nailed down Natural Farming best practices applied to mass cannabis farming and have become the Premier (live rosin) hash producer in Colorado. They are exclusively applying comprehensive Natural Farming protocols in their facilities with thousands and thousands of plants at an unprecidented level with an unprecidented level of success. We would love to share an interview with their team soon! Natural Farming solutions and consulting have completely laid to rest sllug problems and more without any need for pesticides. Chris consulted and supported the design of their second set of greenhouses in their multimillion dollar facility.

Opportunities have continued to present with universities, the science community, and individual researchers--including a few most recently with the University of Hawaii in an effort to control impacts from the rhinoceros beetle that's killing palm trees in Hawaii. If you are connected to research opportunities, we'd love to partner in any way we can. Please reach out.

Kona Coffee + Tea started consulting with Chris as they were managing rust problems in their coffee, as well as problems with invasive beetle populations. With Natural Farming inputs, they have completely eliminated all issues solely with Liquid IMO inputs. They're experiencing results only in the areas treated with Natural Farming, with areas that haven’t yet received the protocols are not experiencing these results. Stay tuned on Biomei product roll-outs coming soon, as we are committed to providing these solutions at scale for other producers globally. All Natural Farming solution recipes and more are available always here at www.biomei.solutions/resources. To become a product tester, please apply here. Our friends and colleagues in Bakersfield installed a comprehensive Natural Farming Lab as a part of their production across 300 acres--sustaining olives, pistachios, and almonds. Their 40-acre olive orchard is the focus of their Natural Farming efforts and the results have been amazing.

Biomei has continued to invest in the nonprofit Kumano I Ke Ala in Kawaii. They are doing amazing work in the community and with young people. The head of the nonprofit is Kaina Makua, who was a part of the Chief of War series that just came out with Jason Mamoa. Chris Trump was invited to visit twice and teach three classes. They are going to send 2 of their teachers that teach the youth in the Big Island, Hawaii, as a part of collaborative partnership.

We have used the ginger grown on Chris' family farm in Hawi, Hawaii from this last year's harvest to create ginger wine, which will be done aging in December. The taste is amazing. the goal is to produce a Natural Farming healthy alcohol that's promoting human health.

Chris spoke with Camp Compost this year. It was a wonderful event with many coming out to Hawi for training in January. Speaking engagements always welcome, to help spread knowledge and network resources. Reach out here anytime!
